Taken in La Jolla, California - With photography I am always challenging myself and constantly looking for innovative ways to capture the true spirit of Mother Nature. When this epic sunset was revealed to me, I was totally blown away. I felt compelled to capture the full extent of such a majestic scene. Using a normal camera ratio and format was too restrictive, so I began looking for a way to span the width of the scene without compromising the file size. I had a special, unique multi-camera rig, custom-built for me by one of my colleagues. This allowed me to shoot three cameras in sync, which is critical for this scene. I was fucking nervous, but I had to take the risk. The mega sunset was casting its glow over the ocean and I had to move fast. This wasn't the right time to test this equipment in the field, but I had no choice. Every camera had to be in focus, framed and set. Looking directly at the pier gave the image strength, which is what I always look for in a shot. The colours just kept getting better and better. I couldn't believe my eyes. The platform shot in harmony: the sound of the three shutters together was like music to my soul. Gallery Price 4.300€.
